This is awarded to schools who show a commitment to the full range of arts - music, dance, drama and art & design. It is a national award scheme and is managed by Arts Council, England. We achieved the highest award – the Gold Award.
Creative Partnerships
The school is proud of its links with this national organisation. With their support we are able to offer our pupils opportunities to work with their mainstream peers on projects with a broad range of creative artists.
Enhanced Quality Award
The award was an evidence based award matching the criteria given by CfBT (Careers for British Teachers) in 5 areas. We had to demonstrate quality of provision in the following: Careers Education: Careers Information: Work experience: Records of Achievement: Industry and community. We gained the enhanced award as we were able to demonstrate an appropriate interpretation of career: 'A pathway through life', which enabled us to deliver the subject in the junior and senior and post 16 departments.
Healthy Schools
This evidenced based award reflects the commitment the school has to meet the every child matters agenda. Pupils are proud of their healthy and safe lifestyle.
ICT Register
We belong to the ICT Register which is a selection of schools willing to offer expertise to other schools in the area of ICT.

About the Leadership Partner School programme
The Leadership Partner School programme is a strategic initiative jointly developed by the National College for School Leadership and the Youth Sport Trust (YST) in response to current leadership and succession planning opportunities and challenges.
Schools, with any specialism, that meet the 'high performing specialist school' (HPSS) criteria can become a Leadership Partner School and focus their second specialism on leadership.
Leadership Partner Schools will become national hubs for the development of outstanding leadership development and succession planning strategies.

Sports College
Part of the specialist schools programme run by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES), we attained Sports College status in 2001 and we re-designated in 2005.
Sportsmark 2007
Sportsmark 2007 rewards exceptional delivery of the National School Sport Strategy. Our school has receive the mark because at least 90% of pupils across the school were going at least 2 hours high quality PE and school sport a week.
