Welcome to the Arbour Vale website
Our aim is to provide an inclusive vibrant school where your child can fulfil their potential, grow in confidence and above all, be happy. We have designed the website to give you a picture of how we meet this aim.
You will find information about all aspects of our work, including approaches to teaching and learning; the role of our specialism in promoting achievement, participation and community involvement; key policies; and the broader involvement of the school community. There are also regular up-dates on school events and activities.
We are very proud of the successes of our pupils and of our involvement in local and national events. Our website is an opportunity to celebrate these with you.
Headteacher’s Up-date
Despite the rather wet start to the Summer Term, pupils and staff have settled back quickly and are working hard. The two national events of this year are an important part of our work this term. We are planning to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in traditional style with a street party in the car park. We have been very lucky to be given significant donations from several of the staffing agencies that work closely with us, and we hope to be able to provide all the pupils with a memorable day, and mementoes of this Royal occasion. Our commitment to school sport means that the Olympics and Paralympics are of significant importance, and we hope to see all pupils involved in some way, whether in county, local or school based competition. The Olympic Torch will be travelling through Slough and we hope to be involved in the event.Alongside these celebratory events, we are still focussed on ensuring all our pupils achieve their best, and beginning to plan for 2012/13. It is set to be a very busy term! There are a number of events coming up for your diary. Please make a note of these- further details will be available.Key dates this term16.04.2012 Staff Training Day17.04.2012 School Begins15/16 May 2012 GCSE Art Exam16 May 2012 Primary Coffee Afternoon 1.30-2.3025th May 2012 Enterprise Market 1.30-3.001st June 2012 Jubilee Street Party4/8 June 2012 Half Term13 June 2012 Primary Coffee Afternoon 1.30-2.3015 June 2012 ASD Coffee Morning & Workshop 10.00-12.0020 June 2012 Primary Coffee Afternoon 1.30-2.3027 June 2012 Primary Coffee Afternoon 1.30-2.3028th June 2012 Post16 Ball3rd July 2012 Move Up Day4th July 2012 Summer Production 6.00-8.005th July 2012 Summer Production 1.30-3.0011th July 2012 Primary Coffee Afternoon 1.30-2.3012th July 2012 Parents Evening 3.30-7.0013th July 2012 Trophy Assembly 1.30-3.0016th July 2012 Sports Day17th July 2012 Sports Day18th July 2012 Primary Coffee Afternoon 1.30-2.3020th July 2012 End of Term 1.30
Finding your way around
Our new website is split into four separate sites for School, Sports, Arts and Pupils. You can select a site by clicking on the large site buttons at the top of the page. Each site is then divided into a number of main subject areas which can be selected by clicking on the area buttons just below the site buttons. Each area contains a number of pages which can then be selected by clicking on the links at the left of the screen. Click on the Print This Page button at the bottom left of the screen to print a page without the surrounding graphics.
