The Staff, Students and Governors of Arbour Vale School
are pleased to welcome you to our school on the Farnham Road.
The new accommodation for Arbour Vale has been purpose built and designed to meet the special needs of the pupils from nursery to post 16. Facilities have taken into account the broad range of needs of pupils at the school enabling their access to an inclusive, creative and successful education. The school is planned around two courtyards with distinctly designed areas for Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Post-16 pupils. The majority of classrooms are based on the ground floor, specialist classrooms are situated on the first floor which is served by two large lifts. Meeting rooms and office accommodation will provide access for families to meetings with other professionals including representatives from Health and Education.
Arbour Vale School is proud of its success as a Sports College. The promotion of a healthy lifestyle and the encouragement of participation in a full range of activities have influenced the design of the facilities which include:
- a hydrotherapy pool
- dance studio
- Soft-play room
- two-court sports hall
- access to outdoor courtyards
- external playing fields
- all-weatherplay surface
The school also promotes a creative approach to teaching and learning, and there are facilities to support the development of a broad range of learning experiences including:
- two music rooms, including practice areas
- extensive art and design areas
- Hall with stage, sound and lighting
- Multi-sensory studio
We are also proud of our 12 bed Residential Unit. This supports those children and young people with ASD who benefit from extended support with independence and life skills education.
Finding your way around Our new website is split into four separate sites for School, Sports, Arts and Pupils. You can select a site by clicking on the large site buttons at the top of the page. Each site is then divided into a number of main subject areas which can be selected by clicking on the area buttons just below the site buttons. Each area contains a number of pages which can then be selected by clicking on the links at the left of the screen. Click on the Print This Page button at the bottom left of the screen to print a page without the surrounding graphics.
