CSE Awareness Day
INFORMATION FORWARDED FROM SLOUGH BOROUGH COUNCIL
In line with CSE awareness day on the 18th March 2019, Slough are holding 8 information sessions across 4 different locations in April for Parents in Slough.
This is to increase their knowledge of the indicators of CSE, where they can gain advice and support, how to keep their child safe and also how to support their learning in school.
On the day they will be able to hear from Nadine Barrett, the CSE & Trafficking Co-ordinator from The Engage service who work directly with young people who are at risk or have been affected by child sexual exploitation and from Lime who are rolling out The Choices Programme in Slough Schools.
The Choices Programme is – an interactive programme across primary schools in Slough, which helps to raise awareness of child exploitation, and encourages pupils to make the right choices if they were to encounter any problems of this nature. It is currently also being designed in secondary school’s and the aim is for all pupils in years 5-8 to take part in the learning, no matter which Slough school they attend. The stories and materials used in the programme have been developed using research-led design with young people in Slough.
These sessions provide a chance to ask questions, get updates on what this looks like nationally and locally and find out what their children are learning too.
