ISF World School Sports Education Games

Arbour Vale school has been invited to represent England at the World School Sports Education Games in Greece from the 17th – 24th of April.

We have been asked as some of our Pupils are ‘Play Unified’ ambassadors, a national leadership programme and due to our participation in Special Olympics events. 2 Special Olympic schools and 2 mainstream schools will be representing England.

The World School Sports Education Games is an annual event held in Greece and based on the Olympic Sites in Athens, Marathon and Olympics. The aims are education, participation and inclusion. Athletes discover the history and philosophy of the Olympics through tours and informal workshops. They take part in unified sports events with Special Olympics and have the opportunity to spend time with young people from all over the world.  There are usually about 250 young athletes and sports leaders from 12 countries.

The cost of the trip is estimated at around £3,000 and will cover the cost of the flights, accommodation, transport and admission to the historic sites. We really would like our pupils to benefit from this once in a lifetime experiences so if you are only able to fund a part of this trip please do get in contact.
