The school has an admissions process
The criteria for admission are as follows:
Arbour Vale School is a Special School for pupils aged 2-19 with a wide range of special educational needs. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Arbour Vale School receives requests for places directly from the SEND team at Slough LA for pupils who have EHCP’s maintained by Slough as well as other local authorities. All placement requests must come via a SEND case officer based at Slough LA.
Visits to the school are welcomed if it is considered that we might be an appropriate placement for your son/daughter. Please contact the School Office to book a place on one of our tours.
Due to the complex nature of our students’ needs, we consider admissions to the school in the light of the needs of the whole school population. Admissions are considered as follows:
- Whether Arbour Vale School would be suitable for the age, ability, aptitude or SEND of the child or young person.
- Whether the attendance of the child or young person at Arbour Vale School would be compatible with the efficient education of others and the efficient use of resources.
This means there must both be a space in the relevant Key Stage and a space in a suitable class to meet the child or young person’s needs.
If Arbour Vale School is oversubscribed, the application will be added to a waiting list system for the relevant Year Group and type of need and reassessed if a place becomes available in an appropriate Class.
